Rubedo is a web game, based on the game by Claude Shannon and the most recent studies about the entropy of language, which wants to test your ability to predict the future, betting on the missing letters of an incomplete text. Rubedo is also a web experiment, through which each player can contribute to quantitatively measure the complexity of our language and, more generally, the complexity – the entropy – of a generic sequence of characters, a complexity that is closely related to the concept of surprise, the one we feel whenever we try to guess or predict something.
