Short bio

Vittorio Loreto, PhD, is a Full Professor of Physics of Complex Systems at Sapienza University in Rome and External Faculty of the Complexity Science Hub in Vienna. He is presently Director of the SONY Computer Science Lab in Rome, after having directed the SONY Computer Science Lab in Paris from 2017 to 2023, where he leads the teams of Sustainable Cities, Infosphere and Augmented Creativity. His scientific activity mainly focuses on the statistical physics of complex systems and its interdisciplinary applications. Over the years, he has been active in the fields of granular media, complexity and information theory, network theory, and social dynamics. Vittorio Loreto published over 180 refereed international publications and chaired several workshops and conferences.
